The Hamilton Thunderbirds Baseball Club is part of the Intercounty Baseball League, which was formed in 1919, with Hamilton joining the league in 1958. In addition to changing the name of the Cardinals Intercounty Club to Hamilton Thunderbirds several improvements will be made to the park facilities and new uniforms designed for the 2005 season. Lucas Oil Flamboro Speedway was established in 1961 making it one of Canada's longest running stock car tracks.
It has one of the largest seating capacities in Ontario, with grandstands positioned on the north straightaway, shielded by a safety wall and fence,
and provide fans with an unobstructed view of all the racing action.

The Hamilton Thunder Soccer Club is a member of the Canadian Professional Soccer League (CPSL). The club has been in existence since 2001, with the first competitive game being played in 2002. In 2004 the Thunder retained its title as Western Division Champions for the second consecutive year.
